My
memory in china is overwhelmingly positive. I have been living in china for
four years now and soon I am going to graduate from undergraduate degree.
During my study period I have participated in many activities and those memories
will be stay in my mind forever. While I was remembering my good old memories
this morning, I found joining Lianyungang xuwei international marathon was one
of the happiest moments I have had is in 2019 few months before the deadly
COVID-19 hits us hard. In this short article I want to describe my experience
and memories on that day. Lianyungang （连云港）Xuwei International Marathon. Before I share my experience, I want to say something about the beautiful city Lianyungang.
Lianyungang is located in northeastern Jiangsu province, China. About 300 kilometers away from Nanjing the city I live. It’s a very beautiful city with a combination of its History and culture.
I was very lucky that among very few international students from our University (NUIST) I was also invited to join such an amazing event. Our journey started from NUIST to Lianyungang on 18 August 2019 at morning 7:30am. After 5 hours of journey finally we arrived in Lianyungang at 12:30pm.
After we arrived most of us were little bit tired because of long journey. However our accommodations were arranged by the organizer before we arrived. After taking rest for few hours we set off from the Hotel for sightseeing.
On that day I made a lot of new friends from different countries that I believe we will stay together for end of time. Especially Charlene from France, Isabela from Algeria, Ben from United Kingdom and son on. We become such good friends that we still have contact each other very often.
I
was amazed by this beautiful city. In every step you will find the test of its
history and culture. For me the most attractive place was Lianyungang Old
Street the place carried hundreds year’s history of this city. After we
visiting few places we were asked to join the opening ceremony of Satellite cup
2019 Lianyungang Xuwei International Marathon.
The opening ceremony was very lively. Many activities were performed in opening ceremony in order to cheer up the participants of marathon on next day morning. Among all the activities I really liked the performance of Lianyungang local music band. Two hours of activity ends with a fission and everybody was very happy.
After having a good rest at the night we were prepare for the main event at the very early morning. I could not even imagine more beautiful event for marathon. Thousands participants made the event even more lively. Many renowned national and international participants were joined and the whole event was live telecast on many TV channel. I participated in 5km marathon; some of my friends were joined in 21km, however for 42 km event mostly joined by professional athlete. It was really a memorable day in my life that I will never forget. |
