The inauguration ceremony and the first Annual General Meeting of Malaysia Alumni Association of Fudan University (FDU) was held in the conference room of MY STAR TEA CITY in Kuala Lumpur Sun Plaza on January 24th, 2016. THONG MENG WEI was electedthe first president of the association at the event.

The purpose of theassociation is to bring together FDU alumni, living in or visiting Malaysia, to reconnect with fellow alumni and to strengthen ties and exchanges with FDU. The association will also help recruiting propaganda and education activities for FDU around the Globe to encourage cultural and academic communication between China and Malaysia.

President THONG MENG WEI said that there have been over 170 Malaysian studying in Fudan University since China's reform and opening up. Alumni are spread across continents. The establishment of Malaysia Alumni Association is expected to cohere the connection between alumniat home and abroad, to promote culture and art exchange, and academic activities between home and China, to offer counseling and mentoring to students who choose to study in Fudan University in the future.
