There are a variety of clubs on our university campus and with different characteristics. These clubs hold colorful club activities in our campus. As a freshman, you can choose different clubs to join. Now let me introduce to you the sign language club in our school.

The original intention of this association was to help those with language or hearing impairment, so that more people can learn or understand sign language. It can help these special groups to speak out, because these special groups should also be respected and treated equally. By joining this club, you can systematically learn sign language-related knowledge. There will be two sign language lessons every week. On Friday, teachers from the handover class of Nanjing Special Education College will be invited to teach a sign language song and some daily language. Sunday is a review class. If you have enough time, you may learn a new song.On weekends, this club also organizes members of the club to go to the orphanage to perform performances for children from special groups and communicate with them. There are many such special groups with their own specialties, such as drawing or playing chess.

This club has the opportunity to do sign language performances at the school’s large-scale party activities or during the military training of freshmen. These performances fully demonstrated the unique artistic beauty of sign language. A member of this club said: She joined the club because she saw their performance and feel that it was completely different from the sign language in her impression. It is artistic and aesthetic, so she tried to sign up when the club recruited new members.
