Zhengzhou University

INTRODUCTION

As a national key university of “Double First Rank University” project, it is funded by the Henan Provincial Government and the State Ministry of Education, Zhengzhou University was founded through the merger of three universities: former Zhengzhou University, Zhengzhou University of Technology and Henan Medical University. Zhengzhou University has an abundance of resources. The University now has four main campuses occupying an area of 1070 acres, of which the New Campus comprises 799 acres.

There are 46 schools and departments, and 9 affiliated hospitals in Zhengzhou University, offering 110 undergraduate programs, 125 doctor programs in 30 first level disciplines, 256 master programs in 55 first level disciplines, and 23 post-doctoral research stations. The University has a staff of 6,000; among them, 4000 are academic members, 29 are academicians of the Chinese Academy of Science and Engineering, 750 professors, and 1,700 associate professors. At present, the enrolled number of full-time students is over 56,000, with 15,000 graduate students and 1,800 international students.

There are more than 310 scientific research institutions of all levels/kinds in Zhengzhou University. Among them there are one National Engineering Research Center, one National Technology Research Promotion Center, one National Chemical Safety Engineering Technology Center, one National Research Center for Safety Evaluation of Drugs, two National Drug Clinical Research Bases, 3 MOE Key Labs, 1 MOE Engineering Research Center, one Key Research Base of College Humanities and Social Sciences sponsored by the MOE and the Province, one Sports Culture Research Base under the Sports Culture Development Research Center of the State Sports General Administration, one National Intellectual Property Training Base.

Zhengzhou University has played an active role in international academic exchange and cooperation. At present, it has established a sound exchange relationship with 84 universities from more than 30 countries and regions of the world, mainly from the USA, UK, France, Germany, Japan, Russia, Canada, Australia, South Korea, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Finland, Ukraine, Taiwan, Hong Kong.
