The 21st century is an ocean-focused century and, inspired by this, our goal is to develop a high-level university with international visibility which will lay the foundations for becoming a research-oriented university as we approach our 100th anniversary. By 2025, OUC will be further developed into a top-level comprehensive research university with a strong emphasis on marine sciences. Building on this, OUC will press ahead with reform and innovation to become a world-class university with distinct characteristics by the middle of this century. The combination of educating the next generation of thinkers and leaders and of investing in research supports our on-going aim of making China increasingly strong through rapid and sustainable development.
