GTEU has four campuses – Mingxiu, Changgang, Wuhe and Wuming Campuse with an area of 3514.53 mu (about 234 hectares). The library stores 3,501,600 books and other publications (including 1,550,670 e-books). GTEU has 22 faculties, one affiliated demonstrative school and one jointly-run independent college. GTEU sets up 10 discipline categories: Philosophy, Economy, Law, Pedagogy, Literature, History, Sciences, Engineering, Management and Art. It offers 66 undergraduate programs, 11 master degree authorized units of the first grade disciplines, 70 master degree authorized units of the second grade disciplines and four professional master degree authorized units. GTEU has 1,328 employees, including 954 full-time teachers of which 465 are professors and 261 are of doctoral degree. GTEU now has 14,693 full-time undergraduates, 1,362 MA candidates, 193 foreign students and 21,176 students of adult higher education programs.
GTEU carries out the policy of education open to the world and has established partnerships with 65 institutions of higher learning and educational establishments from 20 countries and regions. A talent-development model by combining Sino-foreign cooperation and mutual credit-recognition has taken shape, so that the university has actively integrated itself into the scheme of Guangxi-ASEAN international education cooperation represented by opening up to each other and bilateral exchanges. GTEU has jointly set up Thai Language and Cultural Centre, Chinese Centre in Indonesia and Thailand, “Guangxi Overseas Chinese Education Base” with Guangxi Commission of Overseas Chinese Affairs, “Tourism Management Undergraduate Program” with Cardiff Metropolitan University in UK. GTEU is authorized by the Education Ministry of China to enroll international students who enjoy Chinese Government Scholarship, and also entitled to accept ASEAN students on Guangxi Government Scholarship and the Silk Road Scholarship. The total number of international students keeps growing each year.
