Composed of Saihan Campus and Shengle Campus, IMNU presently covers a total area of over 3800 acres (approx. 626 Sq.km), with building area of 1.000.000 square meters. The total value of fixed assets reaches 1.97 billion RMB, among which, teaching facilities and equipment amounts to 450 million RMB. The university library has a rich collection of 2.5 million volumes, 800,000 kinds of digital books, and 100 TB storage space.
The university has more than 2400 teachers and staff members, including more than 1,400 full-time teachers, with 71% of them having a Master’s degree or a Doctor’s degree, and 45% of them have senior titles, 746 PH.D, for doctors’ and master’s degree candidates. Inner Mongolia Normal University has 22 functional offices,36 subordinate colleges and 1 independent college, and 3 teaching-research sections. At present, the university enrolls over 30,000 full-time undergraduate students, 4200 graduate students, 7,100 students in adult education programs and 300 international students. The University offers 77 undergraduate programs covering 10 discipline categories. The university offers 2 doctoral and 24 master’s degree programs in first-level disciplines, 4 doctoral and 131 master’s degree programs in second-level disciplines, 1 rotating post-doctoral station,and 10 professional master’s degree programs. IMNU also has the project of exempting recommended postgraduate candidates from admission exam. The university houses 91 scientific research institutions, 6 provincial level key laboratories, 2 provincial level college key laboratories, and 1 college key laboratory base; provincially, it has 4 college key research bases in humanities and social sciences, 1 philosophy and social science research base, 1 engineering technology research center, 1 engineering laboratory, 1 engineering research center , and 1 academician workstation.
Adhering to opening-up policy and enhancing international exchanges, IMNU has established solid cooperation and exchange relations with some well-known domestic and international universities and research institutes ,including Republic of Mongolia, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, U.S.A., U.K., Germany, France, the Netherlands, Canada, and Australia. In 2009 IMNU was approved to admit international students pursuing a masters’ degree in teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages. Over this years, the university has hired 300 well-known experts and scholars from home and abroad, which including 5 Chinese Academicians as academic advisors, guest professors and part-time professors.
