Hebei Normal University has 21 colleges, including College of Life Sciences, College of Mathematics and Information Sciences, College of Chinese Language and Literature, College of Physical Sciences, College of Business, College of History and Culture, College of Music, College of Arts and Design, College of Foreign Languages, College of Physical Education, College of International Culture Exchange, and some others.
The university presently has doctorate authorization in 8 first-class disciplines and 4 second-class disciplines, Master's degree authorization in 26 first-class disciplines and 5 second-class disciplines, and authorization in 12 Professional master’s degree categories, and 95 undergraduate majors, with Chemistry, Botany and Zoology getting into ESI world ranking of first 1%. The university currently has 1,578 full-time teachers, 430 senior staff members, 931 associate senior staff members, 1 academician of the Chinese academy of sciences, 124 doctoral supervisors , and 768 masters' supervisors. Students of all categories make a total of 36,157. Now it has 1 national-level innovation experimentation area for personnel training model, 1 national-level teaching team, 6 national-level special major construction points, 4 national-level pilot projects of speciality comprehensive reform, 108 national-level projects of innovative and entrepreneurial training plan for college students, 6 national-level shared courses of high quality resource, 1 national-level high-quality public video class, 4 national-level experimental teaching demonstration centers.
Hebei Normal University has a wide range of international cooperation and exchanges, and has already established formal cooperative relationship with 85 higher institutions and educational agencies of 23 countries. The internationalization level of education of the university has improved gradually given the development of relations with more than 200 foreign universities in areas including cooperative education, teacher exchange, student exchange, online courses, scientific research and international talent recruitment. Hebei Normal University accepts foreign students of the Chinese Government Scholarship and the Confucius Institute Scholarship, admitting over 600 short-term and long-term self-funded language students and degree students from Russia, the United States of America, Italy, South Korea, Indonesia, Pakistan, and some other countries.
The university has established 3 Confucius Institutes and 1 Confucius Classroom, cooperatively established 1 Portuguese-Chinese bilingual high school, designated volunteer teachers to 25 countries, actively participating in the international promotion of Chinese language. Hebei Normal University has set up a Peru Research Center, Indonesia Research Center, Sino-Russian Far East Research Center, making effort to building a regional research platform. Hebei Normal University started admitting international students in 1987 and has all majors open to international students.
