Academic Programs
GXNU is additionally comprised of 21 colleges (including one independent college-Lijiang College), and offers degrees to students at the Undergraduate, Graduate, and Doctoral levels. GXNU is authorized to set up degrees and positions which include: 3 post-doctoral research mobile stations; to grant Doctoral degrees in 2 first-level disciplines and 12 second-level disciplines; confer Master's degrees in 23 first-level disciplines, 150 second-level disciplines, and 15 specialties; and full-time undergraduate degrees in 75 specialties. Furthermore, GXNU has 3 key labs at State level, 5 key labs at provincial level, 16 key labs at university level, and more than 25 demonstration bases and training centers.
Faculty
By December 2016, GXNU has 1,595 full-time and professional teachers, among whom, 857 teachers earned High-grade Professional Title, 1,403 teachers possessed Master or Doctoral Degree, more than 100 teachers are state or provincial high-level personnel.
Scientific Achievements
In recent 5 years, GXNU has obtained more than 2,212 scientific research projects at all levels and in various fields , among which over 300 projects are National projects supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Social Science Foundation of China and other state foundations. 1,158 academic papers are collected by Science Citation Index, Engineering Index and Index to Scientific & Technical Proceedings.
International Exchanges and Cooperation
Guangxi Normal University actively carries out international exchanges and cooperation in education and is known as the “vanguard of education” in Guangxi. By now, GXNU has built up education cooperation with more than 200 universities, college and education institutes from over 40 countries and regions. It has jointly set up 3 Confucius Institutes with its partner universities in Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam.
GXNU has the authority to receive international students under the “Chinese Government Scholarship” awarded by China’s Ministry of Education, the “Confucius Institute Scholarship” awarded by China’s State Office of Chinese Language Education (Han Ban), and the “ASEAN Scholarship” awarded by the Guangxi Government. It is also the only university in Guangxi approved by China’s Ministry of Education to be a demonstration base for foreigners to study in China, and to be a Chinese language education base. In recent 10 years, GXNU has received over 15,000 international students from over 60 countries.
