Located in Dalian, Dalian Polytechnic University (DPU) was founded in 1958. Over the past half century, six major disciplines have been developing harmoniously, including engineering (the key discipline), science, art, literature, management and economics. DPU features cultivating professional talents in the fields of light industry, textile process, food science, and art. So far, it has educated more than 60,000 students. DPU possesses three doctorate authorization disciplines of first grade, one post-doctoral research station, fourteen master degree disciplines of first grade, and three degree authorization points of Master of Engineering, Master of Arts, and Master of Agriculture Popularization. Additionally, DPU possesses five key disciplines of Liaoning Province and three disciplines of first grade have been evaluated as first-class characteristic disciplines of the universities in Liaoning Province.

DPU has 15 schools, 50 undergraduate specialties and two Sino-Foreign cooperative specialties. It is home to more than 15,000 undergraduates and 1,600 graduates. DPU is the recipient university of Chinese Government Scholarship, Liaoning Government Scholarship, and Silk Road Scholarship.  More than 500 international students are enrolled annually. It has educated more than 3,200 international students.
